Saturday Night Genealogy Fun: Matrilineal Line

Randy Seavers of Geneamusings has challenged us to some Saturday Night Fun.

Our mission is to

1) List your matrilineal line – your mother, her mother, etc. back to the first identifiable mother. Note: this line is how your mitochondrial DNA was passed to you!

2) Tell us if you have had your mitochondrial DNA tested, and if so, which Haplogroup you are in.

Here is my answers and for privacy reasons I’ll start with my grandmother.

a) Eliza Isabella Woodland (1898-1989) married William John Irvine

b) Isabella May Nesbitt (1863-1910) married Samuel Franklin Woodland

c) Mary Jane Lemoine (1841-1904) married Sam Bankhead Nesbitt

d) Agnes Lang (1813-1898) married Antoine Lemoine

We have not done mitochondrial DNA testing….YET 🙂
